Daily Outfit – Barkcloth & Bouffant
Thank goodness for online auction sites! I misplaced my camera remote control a week ago and after hunting high and low, it is still AWOL. Luckily the replacement I found online yesterday arrived today! It was getting a bit tricky trying to set a timer and jump around to the front of the camera… not very composed.
So how is everyone’s mid winter /mid-summer? Are you over the season yet? We’ve been incredibly lucky in Melbourne this winter and it has been much more mild than in the past. So much so that my cherry blossoms are already coming out! This of course, puts me in a rather spring time pink mood, hence today’s outfit. Well, that and I’m already thinking summery thoughts as I head of to Bangkok city on the 10th August. My yearly (if not more often) pilgrimage to the land of sweet, sweet curry, amazing shopping, gorgeous people and the blissful warmth of the sun. I may not sit out in it, but I certainly appreciate the warm mornings and rich summer scents of the tropical world.
While I wait for that happy day, I’m thinking warm thoughts with my spring colour palette and getting everything prepared for take off. The trip is both for a winter blues cure, as well as a bit of a recovery for me. I haven’t gone into great detail here, but I’ve been suffering from a dislocated jaw since the beginning of the year. This is the reason behind the sporadic outfit posts, and the serious lack of videos. The problem means that often my face is swollen, somedays I can’t speak and some days not even move the muscles in my face. While that all sounds quite diabolical, the good news is that after lots of specialist visits, I’m off for surgery to hopefully correct it on Friday. They tell me that keyhole surgery should do the trick and with any luck, I’ll be back to my regular smiling, chatty, video making outfit posing crazy self in no time.
If not… well be prepared for some madly inventive new Phantom of the Opera style face masks.
And if you are wondering how I have such divine looking floral arrangements in the middle of winter, that is another of my addictions. High end faux flowers. I get so sad when they wilt so I’m constantly filling my house with these, then making new arrangements as the mood takes me. Yes, it can be spring time whenever I wish!
