Daily Outfit – Vintage Barkcloth for a Casual 1950′s Feel
It’s due to be 39 degrees here again in Melbourne, as Australia is in the middle of a heat wave. So while the girls are on School holidays and the temperature keeps rising, we’ve been spending as many casual days at home as we can. Early every morning and late every evening, we head out to try and make sure our little plants survive. The little holiday break has seen me gardening more than my usual share, getting stuck into things in my overalls, removing tress and generally getting scratches every where! But it is worth it.
I’m not well known for my green thumb, in fact I tend to plant mostly succulents as I have a bad habit of forgetting to water them. Somehow though, this year I’ve been doing much better; and thanks to the inspiration I find on Pinterest, my ideas are starting to take shape and the garden is improving. Being inspired to grow some of my own food helps, and we’re now making salads from our own greens.
It’s not easy keeping everything cool and casual, but my latest gift to myself helps a lot. This ‘new’ vintage skirt is made from all original 1950′s barkcloth and vintage trim. I’m completely over the moon with it!

Wow your gorgeous vintage glamour is inspiring! It’s reminding me of the person I sometimes am when not mama to small ones!
Thanks and I agree some gardening is such good time! I really miss it when we are traveling.
