Daily Outfit – 1980s retro does 1940s vintage style
Saturday was almost 40 degrees here, and that is the kind of heat that you really need to be prepared for. I recently came across this cute little 1980s summer number and knew that to make it oh so me, I’d have to style it up very 1940s. So with a clear goal in mind of staying cool, keeping my hair off my face and back; this is what I came up with!
Outfit Details
Cats Eye Sunglasses – silver glitter framed reproduction glasses from Miskonduct
Strawberry beaded head band – Made for me on my travels
Necklace – 1950′s shell flower necklace found at Viva Las Vegas
Dress – 1980s cotton peplum and ruffled dress
Bag – 1950′s plasticane wicker bag found at Kitty’s Kitsch & Vintage in Mt Tambourine
Fan – Reproduction vintage wooden hand fan, found in a Bendigo antique store
Shoes – Aris Allen dance shoes
Lips – Beseme “Red Hot Red”
Bangles – yellow Bakelite bangle (op shop find) and faux scrimshaw bangle (from Diva)

And yes, for those of you wondering, I AM recording a tutorial on how to do this cool hair! Yay!

Wow, love this look! You can tell the dress is kinda modernish, but you have made it look retro so cleverly. The little carry case is so cute too. You look like your ready for a very glamorous picnic!
