Gorgeous to give, receive or gift yourself! Boheme.
There is something new gracing my dressing table this week. A simple, but essential, girly luxury that can change the whole tone of your day. Stopping for a moment after your morning shower to apply a gorgeous body cream and a delicate powder from a fluffy puff, is a quick way to instantly transform your mood into something a little more gentile.
These beautifully packaged pieces are new from The Scottish Fine Soaps Company range and have just come out in David Jones. (I’ve also found it online at Beauty and Me too) They have a whole range of bath time products like bath essence, fine soaps, and hand creams; but for a morning time luxury moment these two items are all I need.
The dusting powder is a finely milled powder with a delicate scent. I had to do some research to find out what it was because it has a fragrance that I’d describe as both comforting and glamorous at the same time. There is also something old world about it without having that terrible ‘nana’ smell that so many powders have. It is a combination of musks, floral and crystal amber. Hmmmmm….
It has a teeny little powder puff for application and you can see just how fine the actual powder is. I use powder a lot in summer here as a fragrance boost, and much prefer it over aerosol body sprays.
The body lustre is just gorgeous! Mind you, I was hesitant at first as anything with the word ‘lustre’ in it, makes me think I’ll end up looking like I’m on my way out for some podium dancing. But the ‘lustre’ in this is so fine (not all glittery), that it just creates a subtle glow to the skin; so subtle in fact I wasn’t even able to photograph it.
The creme itself is thick and rich, easily absorbed and has left my skin feeling soft an moisturised right through the day. The other bonus is that when I get home and pop into a warm shower, it fills with the most heady fragrance and is so relaxing.
The whole range is very reasonably priced with both the powder and the creme coming in at $22.99. the gorgeous packaging make it an excellent gift choice and not at all ‘fussy’, as these things can often be.
So my verdict on this one is that I can’t yet find anything I don’t like about it. It looks elegant on the counter top, smells divine and works a charm, all for an accessible price.
Have you tried wearing powder before? What do you think?

Ohhh I am going to have to have a look for these. They would look lovely on my dressing table and I am certainly in need of a bit of lustre!
