Is this the end for my blonde streak?!
My famous blonde piece is not looking so crash hot at the moment…
Can I get it to look as good as the rest?
I’ve been contemplating a big decision recently. I’ve had the distinctive white blonde streak in my hair for about five years now, and it is so suffering badly I’m entertaining thoughts of its disappearance. I know; the disappearance of something so iconic is really quite a shock and not a decision to take lightly. It has been accidently turned blue, had chunks melted off and even with regular in salon treatments and trims, it is a shadow of its former self.
In a state of anxiety I rang my loyal hairdresser and told her of my mutinous thoughts. Calmly, she talked my down from the edge but made it clear I’d need a good strategy to help bring it back to life. What I need is a dose of intensive, daily nourishing oil treatments, so when Dove approached me to see what their new range could do for me, their timing was perfect!
Other than the dry brittle chips of my blonde streak, the rest of my hair is in great condition. I have regular trims, my colour is only a semi permanent, and I never blow dry and only rarely heat treat it. So most of the time it loves me and bends to my will. Given how integral my hair is to not only my distinctive look, but also to my business as a specialty vintage stylist and model, there is a lot riding on this. I need my hair to be shiny, bouncy, compliant, frizz free and red carpet ready every day.
My hair is one of my biggest assets when it comes to creating a new ‘personality’ in my daily style, so making a commitment to its rehabilitation is incredibly important. The new Dove nourishing oil range claims to be as good as the much lauded Moroccan oil for a fraction of the price. They are promising me shiny, healthy, bouncy and frizz free hair if I follow their plan. The Dove range contains both sweet almond oil and coconut oil, (which I’m already addicted to for my body) and it is supposed to leave the hair nourished but not greasy. So needless to say, I’m pretty darn keen to see if they can save my iconic hair from certain death.
So stick with me to see the story of my hair rehab, and see if Dove Nourishing Oils can do the same for you!

I hope you can save it! While I think even if your hair were suddenly pink, you’d still be your awesome self, it’s still a part of a look you want to keep. I always try new hair products that promise me lots of things. I have extremely poofy hair and I can’t stand it.
So far the only thing that has worked for me is Tressame with its element protection line. Do let us know how it works! I haven’t tried Dove yet and their products do keep every hair soft.

Hey SKM, I know you’re giving this Dove thing a go, but if that fails, then please try Original & Mineral’s range. The 7 Day miracle mask is by far the best thing on the market I’ve tried, it’s made my long hair go from dry and frizzy to absolutely bonkers healthy and shiny… a lot of the damage is gone, and the argan oil makes it feel amazing. I’ve also switched over to using Lush’s hair care stuff, and that definitely makes a big difference too. Good luck!

I am so looking forward to reading your reviews. My hair is horribly dry and frizzy at the moment, it certainly needs some rescuing.

i’ve been considering investing in the moroccan oils – but wow $40 is a lot to pay! i think i’ll try Dove before i go that route. I hope it helps your hair!
I took my blonde srteak out last week for the same reason. It was getting shorter and shorter with every re-bleach and I was well and truly ‘over it’. Looking forward to your results.
