Remember Donald Duck’s uncle Scrooge? I used to watch those cartoons when I was a kid and always dream of swimming in a big pool of money just like he did. Ducking and diving between the notes, with big golden coins flying everywhere. It still sounds good in theory, but these days my ultimate indulgence is something a bit different, because after all, no one wants a paper cut from a $50 on their butt!

I’d like my very own personal live in chef. Fancy a spot of crème brule at 2 in the morning, or have a twenty people coming for dinner at the last minute? Having a skilled chef on hand 24 / 7 would be enough to complete me.  Even just fantasising about what I might do with such a talented individual is enough to make me salivate.

Perfect chef would know that my breakfast should look like this..

Then bring my morning coffee in bed..

Perfect chef could also make this devoid of any significant calories…

And have the food carving skills of Michelangelo.

It isn’t so much about which dishes they could cook me, but the simple fact that I wouldn’t have to do it myself. Because of course, being a premium chef the shopping part of the job couldn’t be left up to me either.  So you see, not only would I not have to cook, I wouldn’t have to grocery shop again! It’s the gift that keeps on giving.  And this is why I’m no food blogger – I love to eat, but the cooking part… meh.. I can do it I just prefer not to.

This begs the question, what is your ultimate indulgence?  All the day dreaming, vision of lust that a question like this can lead to is well and good, but is that going to get you any closer to realising said indulgence?  This time it just might.

There’s a point when things are just taking it too far. When my mailman delivered the latest junk mail, with it came the usual slew of gift suggestions from your local retailer. Same old same old mostly; socks, candy, tinsel, suspect looking Rudolf… but then over the page I saw the add for this brand new Barbie doll…

Can you see what my problem was; what induced such horror? (aside from the fiendishly bad eye makeup and tack-o-rama jacket she’s wearing)

Barbie is a REAL working video camera! Way to give your child the gift of invasion of privacy for Christmas! Okay, I’m more than a little outraged that the manufacturers think that this sort of thing is a great idea for a young child’s toy. It’s bad enough that most 13 year old girls have camera phones with which to tape and bully each other with inappropriate footage on Facebook with, but this? This is akin to giving your child access to their very own Nanny cam for their own purposes.

When I was a child, my little brother learnt how to build radio bugs from a matchbox and bits of electronics, so that he could tape the conversations of my friends and I at sleep overs.  This was a whole new kind of little brother hell to me that caused him a few punches in the nose.  But imagine putting Barbie into the hands of a wily ten year old boy with something to prove? I’m imagining some school yard lunch time hell moments for their poor sisters.  And what about the parents? Should I have to spend my evening hunting out surreptitiously placed Barbie dolls before I kick back with that evenings episode of CSI not fit for a seven year olds consumption?

I generally consider myself a fairly liberal individual, and I’m nothing if not an early adopter of technology; but I ask you, isn’t giving your child a video camera masquerading as a Barbie doll taking things a step to far??

Ha ha! Nah, not really.. but I thought I was about time I got my act together and told you all why I’ve been doing all this travelling about the country of late and why my postings have been a tad sporadic.  I’ve been working with The Ultimate Rock n Roll Jam Session on their national tour! ( You may remember me meeting them here)

We started out doing a bit of a sneak peek in at the Queen Street Mall last week, before kicking off the season last Friday night.

And although they were riveted, most of the crowd looked at us like we’d just been dropped off on the last space ship!

Friday night was the first of the big 50′s Friday night’s that we’ll be doing in Brisbane, Melbourne and then onto Sydney. Just what is that you ask? To help set the scene for this moment in Rock n Roll history, we put together a Best Dressed in 50′s for the audience as well as a classic 50′s fashion parade, showcasing some of the most beautiful evening dresses of the time along with some cute updated 50′s looks.  And we’re doing it all again this week before heading to Melbourne for the next leg of the season!

So I’m spending a lot of time running around making sure things look spiffy, hanging out with beautiful women and talented musicians.. Geez what a job!

I can’t believe how quickly the Christmas season has come around again! I am so not ready for this yet… Still I have no objection to all the parties that come along with it.  Last week was the first of all the Christmas parties for me, when Nuffnang threw a Blue Hawaii party for all of their Melbourne bloggers.  The idea was to come dressed themed appropriate, which was a great reason to buy a new dress.

Held at the Honey Bar in South Melbourne, there were large blue drinks, tiny umbrellas and blow up palm trees – all the things a kitschy Blue Hawaii party should have.  Check out the fun we had!

I was once told that geniuses choose green. I have no idea why that is, so perhaps I’m not that much of a genius after all.

I was asked by Holden to design my own custom Barina Spark and showcase my style. Given that the car is such a small, cute thing anyway, going for the full on pink Kawaii-ness may have been a tad much.  So instead I decided to think about it in a practical way (shock horror).

I’ve actually been spending a lot of time looking at cars recently, trying to figure out just which car says ‘Me’, and that I can actually afford too.

This says “Me”…. but poor.

This also says “Me”… but completely broke.

The only problem is that just like my taste in clothes, my taste in cars tends towards the outlandish and expensive. So having a chance to put my own personal stamp onto something that my bank manager will approve of was rather cool.

Here is my very own Barina Spark; I like to call it Style to Burn.  If you click on the image it will take you through to the page where you can view the car from several different angles to see the full design.

First off this may not be what you’d expect from me, (but then many of you have come to expect the unexpected, so perhaps you would? Confusing much?) but stick with me.

When it comes to cars, my tastes run to two things – Classic muscle cars and things that look like they could bite your head off.   I wanted sleek, stylish, slightly dark and something that would make you look twice.

I could have gone for a predictable black with pin striping and flames, but that just wouldn’t work quite the same when exiting it in a swanky evening dress. Instead I wanted something that that made you double take. Something smooth and sophisticated, that on a second look, revealed a layer of wickedness and the potential for some racy moves.

I’m not sure I’m going to be able to stop at designing just one though, Designer Spark is as addictive as those online paper doll games! Even better than those though, is that Designer Spark has a whole swag of chances to win awesome prizes, just by bunking off from what you should actually be doing and playing around with colours!
