Melbourne Spring Fashion Week Gets Some Vintage Glamour!
BIG NEWS!
Yep, that big! This time next week, Melbourne Spring Fashion Week will be getting it’s first dose of serious vintage glamour! As part of the lunch time series at City Square, I’ve been asked to present a couple of workshops on The Vintage Glamour Look.
It is going to be some fun in the afternoon, that’s for sure. We’ve made this a free event so as many of you as are able to come can – all inclusive! Bring your mother, bring your daughter, bring your friends and even bring your man. There’ll be tips, tricks, models and beautiful clothes. You can find out more about the MSFW lunch series here. I’ll be presenting as part of the Slumber in the City and Beauty and the Beach theme days, so just click on through to find all the details and see what else is on stage that day.
Remember, I’ll also be appearing as a special guest for Celebrity Stylist Philip Boon at The Stylist Says Workshop on Saturday 4th September. You can book tickets for that one here or you have one more day to leave me a comment on this post to WIN one!
So bring out your vintage best this MSFW and work the week in style!

do you think if I blink loads and clicks my heels three times I’ll get to Oz?

YAY I can’t wait to be a part of this it’s gonna be AWESOME
Dear SKM,
I am in love with the glamour of the 40′s and 50′s but I am to afraid to wear vintage clothing as I live in a small city and fear the comments I would get. How can I look like I have a vintage look without actually wearing vintage?????
Good luck with that hon, I bet it will be fabulous!
Would love love love to attend this – after 6 weeks in hospital this would be just the pick me up I need!
Wow – I just clicked on the link to see how much this is because I totally missed the bit that said “free”. Too good to miss, I’ll have to negotiate a long, late lunch break.

Oooh!! How I wish I lived closer (and not halfway around the world) as I would love to go!
I wished I lived in Australia. You have so many interesting things going on there. Greetings from Kitchener, Ontario, Canada by the way!
Gorgeous photo!
You look terrific!!!!!
Fun!! I’ll make sure to come along to one of them!
How exciting… I’m working on the program for these events right now, and I just got to your name!
I’d make it huge and bold but I think someone might notice some favouritism haha.

Thanks for the great session today –
it was nice to hear someone describe the whole thrill of wearing vintage everyday – you summed up many thoughts that have been floating around in my head for years. I loved the comments about wearing things with humour, and expecting to be constantly noticed – so true.
I asked the question about “accumulation”, and it was nice to hear it is an issue for you too. I’m starting to learn to not get rid of too many things along the way, but i am also a true believer in the fact that if you discard something great, you will find something even better in the near future. The thrift fairies look after all of us!
I did have a question about where you bought the waist cincher that you showed (the simple white one) – is it a local purchase?
Thanks again for an inspiring hour…
I LOVE this photo of you!
How exciting congratulations xx
