A little while back I was heading for a day out with friends, when one of them arrived to the venue on a push bike. Nothing so amazing about that you may think, but here is the awesome bit. Not only did she look super chic, but she was wearing a stealth helmet that actually looked fantastic! It may sound a bit superficial but one of the big things that has put me off riding a push bike is the dearth of stylish accessories out there for a woman such as myself. Lycra hot pants and I are like oil and water, and Stack Hats and sets don’t mix.
So when talking to my beautifully turned out cycling friend Joyce, I discovered that she was in a similar style crisis position and decided to do something about it! And so, CycleStyle Australia was born! And I have to tell you, even for a non-bicycling member of society such as myself, it is a gold mine. Check these out…
.
Legwarmers. Okay we’ve all seen these before but get this, these are made using REFLECTIVE yarn! So they are perfect for night jogs, cycling in Winter or a weekend rave!
.
This stunning lemon coloured straw shopper is just to die for! On a bike or otherwise it is just bloody gorgeous, begging to be filled with well thumbed forgeign novels, fresh ground coffee and baguettes. (Well at least in my imagination…)
.
Pink floral pannier? Perfect for filling with your anodized 1950′s picnic set and cruising down by the river side.
.
The Edith is like a clutch bag for your handle bars and this one is super special – she’s made of limited availability vintage fabric!
I love this one and am already thinking that it would make a swanky addition to the push bar on Miss 2′s pram.
It isn’t just about ultra chic cycle fashion, but Joyce’s blog keeps you up to date with the latest and greatest in two ( or three or one) wheeled happenings, like this month’s Sydney Tweed Run!
So get on over and visit the delightful Joyce and set your cycling style on fire!

Thanks for the mention Super Kawaii Mama! We hadn’t considered popping the Edith handlebar bag on a pram handle before – good idea!
Joyce aka Miss CycleStyle
I”d be so worried about the super cool bits being stolen. I bought a gorgeous bell for my bike before it was stolen
Kathryn: Perhaps they should come out with an electrified range?
Good idea. Or maybe ppl could come with moral values
Oh Kathryn, that’s sad – what do people actually do with stolen bells? I’ve just installed a lovely bell on my bike from the CycleStyle range which would require a screwdriver to remove, so hopefully it’s ok. I also keep my Kitsch Kitchen panniers on the bike and so far, so safe. They are very eye-catching if anyone tried to wrangle it off my bike!
Oh, my! I am in heaven! Those panniers are simply divine!
those are super cute! actually I was going to ask you about cycling style. I love looking at Copenhage Cycle Chic and I have really notice the dearth of cute bike stuff here. I hate that the cycling community seems to think that only those who were lycra are legitimate cyclists – the number of saside glances I’ve gotten at ‘Ride to Work Day’ but I’m there in a skirt and heels is really quite rude…
hmmm, you seem to have touched a nerve
Hi Elise
I ride every day in normal clothes from my wardrobe, including skirts and heels, and I make a PARTICULAR point of dressing nicely for Ride to Work Day – just to show that you can be a cyclist and not wear lycra! If you’re in Melbourne, maybe we should hang out at Federation Square together along with other normal looking cyclists!
sure, pick a spot and a time and I’ll see you on October 13
Elise: Living with an oft lycra clad husband I have to say that even though he’s a “serious cyclist” I still can’t grow to love it. So long as you don’t do yourself an injury I say go for the skirts and heels – or even a fab pair of pants and saddle shoes a’la Rita Hayworth! ( P.S – thanks for the grammar tips, I can write but I never could spell or get my grammar perfect. Thank goodness for great Editors!)
oh and a teensy grammar quibble… you don’t need the apostrophe in your title, “Bikes are Cool!”
Oh these are gorgeous. I wish I had a bike to strap them to! I’ll opt for a pashly princess. Oh well I’ll just have to stick to making polyvore sets and dreaming.

Hi Emma
I like your Polyvore set. By coincidence I own exactly the two Yakkay helmets that you have in it (the pink tweed especially gets a lot of comments), plus we are going to be offering bespoke cycling capes made from Dashing Tweeds fabric, just like in your photo.
Those are so cute! I bike quite a bit in the summer, but I hate my bike because it looks like an old lady bike
I bet a set of cute paniers would spice it up though.
Those accessories are so cute, makes me want to get a bike but then I think about the traffic and the way people drive in Vegas so I will just admire them from afar……..hehe…………
Oh, perfect timing. Just bought a bike under pressure from Hubby and kids (currently still in the box!). Not vintage styling though
Went with inexpensive first to see how I go as I haven’t been on one for 30 years. The gorgeous accessories would certainly make the whole prospect a lot more appealing.
Love your blog, style and everything! Have been a fan for over a year now and you are inspiring!
Kind regards
Michelle
Michelle: Thank you so much! I really wish I could ride from where I live to somewhere fabulous, but at this stage I’m lobying for another vintage car instead.
