Hi all! Well after a huge HUGE week, I am finally back in Melbourne. I don’t think I have ever walked, talked and danced so much in my life – Wintersun has been such a huge success. While it was a little tricky to get the blog posting happening, I hope you’ve been able to follow all the pics on Facebook and Twitter to keep you in the loop.
One of the things that made this week so memorable for me was spending a whole week living with some of my best friends and doing what we love best; frocking up in different outfits a couple of times each day! You’d be surprised just how much I managed to fit in my case. I was very glad that my beautiful Sakura case is strong and lightweight because I couldn’t have afforded to waste any luggage weight on a heavy case. With a 20 kilo limit I was bang on target and still managed to pack 16 outfits, 6 pairs of shoes, a separate hat box and carry all my cameras, laptops and equipment.
Because I wasn’t able to give you any Daily Outfit shots other than on Twitter I’m going to give you a whole bunch today instead. I did have to take them all on the iPhone but they haven’t turned out too badly. Anyway, this is how I do it by the seaside.

oh Candice you are beautiful. I especially love your first photo. You look so happy
and your outfits are gorgeous too.
Lorri: Thank you – I have to say my happiness quotiant was through the roof last week!
You’re pretty spot-on with the vintage look. I remember my mother dressing up when I was a kid and your look is so much like hers. However the nails only had three options – red for special occasions – pink for innocent everyday – and “coral” for the beach! I think those yellow stripey things really detract from your look.\
Your website is fabulous! And you are really beautiful!
Love it Candice! Wish I had the courage to dress in such gorgeous vintage attire. xx
Awesome outfits all of them! I particularly like the blue skirt and jacket and the last dress. Impeccable as ever
You look absolutely wonderful! Adore the ballerina print dress – too pretty for words

Oh wow! This is the first time I’ve visited your blog, but it won’t be the last! Me and my wardrobe are absolutely put to shame by you. You are very talented at pulling a whole outfit together, have you any tips on how to accessorize? (having an outfit dilemma over at my blog and would appreciate ANY advice to make me look like a vintage vixen and not a high street harlot!!)
Miss P xx
Porcelina: Welcome. Well fo rme when it comes to accessorizing I’m a ‘more is more’ type really. I like to have special accessories for each and every eventuality. I guess the main thing is to know what the key to your own style is and focus your accessories there. For instance, I have loads of red – bags, shoes, phones covers etc etc.. so it is always a simple matter to pull together.
Thank you for that, I think a colour-scheme is a very practical place to start!
Candice, I love the ballerina dress, I also altered a house coat to wear out as it was to pretty to hide inside and I’m a big fan of border print skirts and that one is a beauty. The fabric on the last frock is spectacular ! I’m pleased to hear you had such a wonderful time. Are you by any chance going to the Fifties Fair in Sydney in August. I am flying home for it !
Jaede: I’m organising my August calender now and am working towards being there. Would LOVE to make it this year.
Fabulous, it would be wonderful to see you !
Hello lovely, was fabulous to meet you at Wintersun, i looked forward to your daily outfits in person each day – Much love, Michelle x
Michelle: I was great to meet you too! You’re a fantastic dancer and have such a beautiful smile.
I MISSSSS YOUUUUUU!!!! xxxxxxxx
Chrissy: You know you are next on my list of people I’m bribing to move to Melbourne.
<3<3<3 xx
So gorgeous! I’m so inspired by all of your outfits.
Hey, can you tell me where you know of nice vintage or reproduction vintage style sweaters???! Mx
Gorgeous outfits! Very inspiring for someone starting out on the vintage path
oh my gosh. i have always been a really, really avid lover of the 40s and 50s fashion. you look incredible – I will definitely be following you
Hi again,
I really like all the info that has come from you being at Wintersun. Especially your clothes, I have learnt so much since I started reading your blog last week and I haven’t had a day without red lipstick and having my hair done even if its just for staying at home since. In short you have given me the confidence to be myself everyday not just when I am acting on stage.
Thanks also for your reply for glamour camping, I have come up with my own basic style for this that is very Australian but still glam. I will take photos and post them on facebook next time, as its still a work in progress.
The next big question is where do you find someone who can wax eyebrows in a 1940′s look? I live in the same area as you.
Again thanks for your inspiration.
Love Jayne
That hand-painted skirt looks awesome! Love the last outfit, too
Meream: Yes it is so pretty. I love the girl picking apples, it is so bright and cheery!
You look gorgeous.
