As promised last week, I am going to attempt to take pictures at different junctures of my day to show you just what happens in and to my outfits. Generally I try and make time to take outfit shots every day or two, standing up my little tripod and snapping away quickly before popping the kids in the car to school. This week, I’m roping in Mr. SKM whilst he is convalescing, to give me a hand and take some photos on the hop.
So to start this out, today’s outfit photos were taken at the end of the day. It was a day of school runs, errands and a little shopping before heading home to cook dinner for everyone. After a day in heels I generally remove them on getting home and depending on just how much walking I’ve done that day, either swap them for ballet flats or house shoes. This week was so chilly I decided to up the Nana factor and went out and bought myself a pair of classic, fluffy, brocade slippers – exactly like the ones my Grandmother has!

Love the outfit AND the granny slippers. Have been thinking I need something warmer for the cooler months. Havianas don’t quite cut it in the cold (don’t worry, they never see the outdoors – I wouldn’t be caught dead!).
Ooh and I like your slate tiles too. Funny thing to notice eh but they’re the kind we’ve always had in the houses Dad’s fixed up.

This is a great post SKM. Although I love your outfit posts, it is really nice to see you in shots doing ‘realistic’ things and FANTASTIC to see you wearing fluffy slippers. I thought I was the only one! I sometimes feel bad when my hubby gets home and any glamour that I had in the day has worn off and he finds me with messy hair and slippers on. The 1950′s ‘good housewife’ manual always says to dress up for when your husband comes home. You have shown us that you can still look glamorous AND be comfortable. Thanks again!

I love your apron – it’s adorable! I have to hunt down a few cute, washable aprons: I have a couple of utilitarian ones for messy cooking chores and a few sweet vintage ones for dinner parties that I’m loath to subject to everyday use, but nothing pretty that I can use every day.

Paul: It’s actually a bit of a mix. The actual kitchen area is Oak, laminex and flying ducks on the wall.. The eating area is more classic. Blue 50′s faux marble laminex table, chrome, deco china cabinets etc..
