There was a very special tea party to attend the other week. A tea party you’ll see and hear more about a little later, but first up its all about the outfit.
Lolita styles are not something I’ve really added to my wardrobe. I love the colours, the frills, the prints; but I also know that for me they just don’t work head to toe. So as usual, I’ve taken the elements of what I love about the style and worked it up to create something very ‘me’.
The whole outfit was so much fun to put together and so much fun to wear. And the hair? Well that is the result of setting small pin curls for 24 hours then letting them go wild!
The skirt is by Japanese Gothic Lolita brand Body Line which I actually found here in Melbourne at the One Day in Paradise store. I loved the pink and black striping as well as the cotton lace detail and tulle underskirt. Apparently it can be worn with petticoats underneath too, but it had enough volume for me as is this time. The print is all fruits and icecream with little flecks of glitter here and there too, as well as black satin ribon woven through the hem of the lace.
Where did it all come from? Surprisingly, other than the skirt, I already had all these other pieces in the wardrobe. It just required a fresh set of eyes looking through the drawers to pull it all together.

You’re looking lovely in this pictures. (:
Perfect! I think I actually like your SKM-Loli style even more than your immaculate vintage looks (maybe because there is more scope for pink and bows?), this outfit is a new favourite!
Can you point out any pincurling tutorials/instructions that are particularly helpful? I’ve been thinking about giving it a try, now I definitely want to!
AMAZING. Head-to-toe perfection!
oh I love! I think you team up the different styles well and the dress is so cute!
Lashes for days!
That skirt is sooooo cute! And wow I love your hair so much – the curls are super fab
WOW. I am SO jealous of your awesome style. I get so much inspiration from your posts. Thank goodness I live in the US. How embarrassing for us to show up with the same outfits to an event
LOL!
I love your outfit… and the hair! The hair, the hair, the hair! Just stunning xx
I love this look! It’s very grown-up lolita. Cute and fun, but also incredibly chic.
Love your take on this style
And its so exciting to see the lace bow too!

I really fancy your fascinator. This is another fun and lovely outfit, I really like it on you.
Have you done a tutorial on pin curls? I’ll have a look on your youtube channel. If you haven’t, count this as an official request for one!
Oh wow! Possibly my favourite outfit of yours! Just adore everything. You remain my style inspiration (:
I love the pin-curls. I have started experimenting with pin-curls, and they are so much fun. Those lashes are divine too!
Hi SKM! I’ve been reading your blog for weeks but haven’t commented before. I had to this time, because – as well as this whole look being stunning – I particularly love your hairdo. I have very curly hair, and most vintagey/lolita-ish styles I see wouldn’t work (unless they’re all about pulling it back in a bun, or unless I straightened it!). This not only works, but celebrates curls. My hair (and style) is in a real slump at the moment, so I feel inspired by yours! If you’re ever in a position to post more detailed photos of this (or similar very curly) hairstyles, I would be grateful – I could show a pic to a hairdresser so they know what length etc I want.
I also love the idea of wearing a fascinator. Genius.
Thanks for your awesomeness. ^__^
Saw your post on wardrobe_remix and loved it!
Amazing! I’m in love with your look!

Girl, you are STUNNING. And I want your lips, hehe
I like that you made the Lolita-style “your own”!
Keep it up!
Love it! Puh-lease do a tutorial on fascinators… I love them, but have no clue how to use em… which seems ridiculous ’cause they only go one place – on your head!
Love the skirt but it would make me want ice cream everytime I looked at it…..hehe..
Oh my, don’t you just look beautiful with curls!!
I love what you’ve done with the lolita elements, as a matter of fact, I am the same! Love the style, but personally don’t feel the need to look like a giant cupcake, hehe.
(and I have been drooling over that skirt you are wearing. *jealous*)
xx Silje
Super gorgeous outfit! It looks fantastic on you!
So cute! I could never come up with such a cute outfit. I guess I need you as my stylist.
