Why Les Miserables? Well I think it is the ragged skirt that I love so much. Something about this combo as I was putting it together, made me think of a Parisian Courtesan on her day off or a well dressed revolutionary marching the streets of Paris. This skirt has had so many appearances over the last autumn winter season and I don’t see it stopping anytime soon. Depending on how I wear it I can end up feeling like The Little Match Girl, Eliza Dolittle or like today, a Can Can dancer on her way to the shops! All that fantasy in one skirt? What a great buy!
(Some of you have asked for more detail of this skirt and this cardigan before, so prepare yourself for a gratuitous amount of photos)
The hair was done using my “Chic and Simple Updo” tutorial and takes no more than 5 minutes to achieve.
The makeup look has a tutorial on the way too. I’m a little behind on the editing but hope to get it ready for you in the next week. It is simple and soft, but can be amped up quite easily for an evening look.
Phew.. that was a lot of photos! Now for the details..

Loving this ensemble SKM! xo
Love that skirt – so flattering and chic. How’s that with Anthropologie shipping to Australia now?? Fantastic news but the shipping prices are SO STEEP. Though I did spy some cute as shoes there. Hmmm!!!
Far too hot in Perth as well to be wearing boots cardigan etc hahahaha.
Looks great tho
Great lip color.
Super cute~ I really like the boots with that skirt. I also really love the cardigan. But I always fall for cardigans with bows, they’re so adorable!
Such a beautiful skirt! It looks great with the boots and I love the colours you have in this outfit. Cheerful and feminine without over-doing it at all.
Hi Candice,
This outfit looks great. I’d really love to let you know about the place I work as I think it’d be right up your alley (I’m really not trying to sell you anything but thought you’d like to know about this -sharing is caring!) The shop is in a beautiful large industrial style building and we’re having a 10-70% off sale. Lynn the owner stocks beautiful French bath and body, homewares, clothing and bags and most of the products have a vintage feel. it’s at 95 Auburn Road in Hawthorn East and the sale is on till Saturday. You can have a look at the blog with a couple of pics of the stock here http://scarletjonesmelbourne.blogspot.com/
I hope you like it!

Love this outfit and I love Les Miserables too. It is by far my favorite musical; the French revolution is fascinating!
That is indeed a gorgeous skirt. It’s always so hard to find great boots.
An awesome skirt from a shop named after a character from To Kill a Mockingbird!? That is too wonderful!
I love the sparkly bow too.
On te voit belle, Kawaii…
