  1. If I could choose, my
    Own perfect adventure, I’d
    Leave now for Japan.

    To stroll the byways
Of the old town of Kyoto.
    Heart-stone of Nihon.

    I would walk beneath
    Falling Sakura blossoms
    And watch the sky swirl.

    Filled now with treasures,
    My Sakura trolley case.
    And memories special,

    Saved forever, safe,
    Within cherry z-i-8.
    Some day soon. I’ll wait.

  2. so Spiffy says:

We’ll I’m so IN!!!!! And as for the suitcase, that is the cutest, yet chic traveling attire I’ve ever seen!

  3. Rebecca says:

I’ll put on my writing shoes …. and an outfit too and write an amazing adventure over the next 4 weeks :)

  4. Kelly says:

Currently planning our first family overseas trip,
Which is surely set to be quite a hit!
Adventure, relaxation and shopping for Mum,
We are in for lots and lots of fun!

We’re all set to go with passports in hand,
Although our luggage is rather bland!
Nothing to stand out on the airport carousel,
We use coloured ribbon so we can tell!

But Hideo Wakamatsu can put that to an end,
With travel accessories that certainly set the trend!
With something suitable for the whole family,
Gorgeous and bright that stand out for all to see!

Now, while travelling with my Kawaii little boys,
This Mama needs lots of poise!
To deal with the odd fight and argument too,
While away from home with so much to do!

On this trip many memories will be made,
Of family time on a wonderful escapade!
Picture perfect Kodak snaps to show family and friends,
When home we head and our adventure ends!

So, we look forward to our trip in 2010,
    As we approach 2009’s end!
    Bali here we come,
For lots of fun in the sun!

  5. Bridget says:

Filming as I go around the world we go,
Stopping here and there, Greek Islands, LA, Europe and Asia,
Using the KODAK pocket video to capture the moment and memories,
Taking snapshots high and low, ready to show the world our adventure,
Spinning round and round the maze with luggage safe and sturdy,
Never can lose the Hideo Wakamatsu trolley, as stand out from the crowd,
I’ll, take a pic or 2 of that.

  6. karina wong says:

With the Hideo Wakamatsu being dragged across France with one hand, the other hand is busy taking happy snaps with the Kodak camera, to be posted on facebook for the world to see.

  7. Dakota Rico says:

You would find me in the heart of Paris at winter time. With the love of my life. We would lose our selves in the architecture, the boutiques and the café’s.

After a day of sight seeing and taking unforgettable photographs together, we would stroll Paris in the evening. The French language would be music to our ears, for it is a language of romance, more than a language of words.

I’d take my love to Chanel, for a string of meaningful white pearls, and then we’d go to Les Deux Magots café, not too far from the Eiffle tower, to have coffee. Edith Piaf’s enigmatic voice would be slithering from the vintage gramophone, so delicate, her lyrics would flow like silk chiffon.

Every day we would be not only lost in Paris, such a beautiful city it would be, we would be lost in our selves too, lost in love that is.

On the last day we would go to the Parisian Patisserie, to get a box of delicate French cakes, a last memorable taste in Paris. Then, We would eat them on the Eiffle tower, to say goodbye to the artists, who are the true souls of Paris.

    But just before we left…

At the top of the Eiffle tower, I would pause and present a ring from my knee. It would be a journey, for the rest of our lives.

Thanks for this competition for the kodak video camera Kawaii Mama!
It really allowed me to empty my creative soul. And dream, of what I would really love to do. Paris takes my soul away!

  8. Dakota Rico says:

p.s I discovered your blog recently and I really think your style is one of kind. Your pictures have been in my sisters latest lookbook, we think you are so cool!!!

Hello from Raglan New Zealand! Dakota

  9. With a Hideo Wakamatsu leopard print trolley (and matching beauty case!) and compact Kodak zi8 in hand I’d be jetting to Cape Town, South Africa to relive history.

Having recently unearthed reels of super-8 film shot there by my Grandfather as early as 1938 I’d be led by his adventures, with one eye on the present and one on the past. A dapper gentleman himself, he would have approved of luggage that came with coathangers.

Vineyards, art exhibitions and fabulous dinner parties, from the top of Table Mountain to fishing boats by the sea, I’d film it all to share with the next generation, as I’ve had my history shared with me.

  10. With apologies to the Andrews Sisters…

I want a sweet adventure, could be anywhere,
Paris, New York, Tokyo, baby, I don’t care.
I’m packing up my Kodak camera in my stash,
And off for the airport, I must quickly dash.
I’ve got a lot of shoes!
    What am I gonna do?
I’ll pack it in my suitcase from Wakamatsu!

  11. Darn! Too bad I can’t enter. The Kodak camera was actually on my wishlist!! Good luck everyone.

  12. Lisa Habermann says:

A sexy suitcase tells a tale.
A sexy suitcase leaves a trail.
With locks and clips and firm rounded sides.
Of journeys taken. Of time that has bide.
A suitcase is more than the place it is kept.
    Holding its history.
Through years past, smiles and and tears that were wept.
A well travelled suitcase by Hideo Wakamatsu creates a perfect adventure. Realising a dream, captured by Kodak .. memories. Without a seam.

  13. Selena Z says:

I’m going on a Tuneful Tour to Nashville!

I’m going to stop at London and L.A on the way. Writing songs on a paper napkin, snapping promo photos with my Kodak, sitting on my sturdy Sakura Hideo Wakamatsu suitcase between gigs.

Meeting musical mentors. Strumming sweet chords. Ink splatters. Music concerts, spotlights, glitter, art, fashion. Kodak captures the moments.

And at the end? I’ve compiled a demo CD of beautiful tracks sent in a package to several recording labels!

  14. Michelle says:

I need a new suitcase, my old one is retiring, I want to go to Qld,with nice luggage while I’m flying. I’ll take photo’s of my family, too far away to see,I’ll then get them to take a picture or two of me. I’ll keep them in my memory book, of happy times gone by, so please I need to win this time,So off I’ll go and fly.

  15. Lisa Preston says:

Traveling aloft in my hot air balloon
Missing bygone days of the cooling monsoon
    Days spent watching, waiting
When I find the right place there’s no hesitating
Days pass, brown-red gives unto green
Spread before me a landscape pristine
Cavalcades of creatures reminiscent of the ark
Evening floats upon the sweet air of dark
Morning brings more wonders of earth
    Healthy beings display poverty’s dearth
From above no drought, plague or pollution
Is this humanity that’s found a solution?
    Excitedly I land
    Gathering myself to explore and
Discover on the ground an Eden moderne
Perfection in harmonious living at every turn
    Where was this ecological oasis?
Magnificent flora and fauna filling all spaces
Observing an older woman repose under a tree
Her face contentedly wise I said to she
‘What name do you give this nation?’
    Smiling she replied without hesitation
‘In years I’m one forty three
You are much younger than me
But at once you are also my Great Grandmama
Since your era we’ve come so far
Because after your time of 2010
We listened, deciding it’d never happen again
It took every mind, every cent we had
But looking back now we’re so gratefully glad
The planet was dying, every animal, ocean and bush
We gave it our everything in one almighty push
Saving our planet brought us back from the brink’
She paused with emphasis making me think
‘Now our lives are much simpler but more pleasure, less pain
Our efforts rewarded with universal gain
What you see now is Earth reborn
And for our old ways we’ll never mourn
Your perfect adventure across space and time
Was divine intervention not without reason or rhyme
What you find before you will eternally thrive
It’s our resurrected planet in 2105.’

  16. Nicki says:

    Indie rock’n'roll with camera flash,
    Spinning wheels.
Glamorous tales of vintage and red,
    Picture perfect lace riot.
    Tour bus mourning, petrol fumes,
    suitcase, meet the dusty road.
    Money exchanged, pleasantries,
    Crash/sleep/ouch-watch-it!/morning.
    Hair fixed in dirty mirror,
    hot water wanted, reward offered.
    Venue’s a mystery, directions lost,
snaps of surroundings and your pale visage.
Broken guitar strings, our highway debris
Chorus of voices filling in time.
    Sweat and tears, ticket kiss,
atmospheric photos of faces out front.
    Backstage car crash, dramatics, corrections,
Cherry blossom baggage and black grunge amps.
Screaming lights erupt, we are blinded, uncertain,
Trust our fingers to play what we cannot see.
Aftermath frozen in time, in the frames,
that adorn every inch of wall space available.
    Kodak scarlet, silver and overworked,
Hideo Wakamatsu still unopened, from fear.
I rest, I wait, the stage itch returns,
new batteries, new wheels, reintroduced lace riot.

Thanks SKM, it’s a lovely, creative competition. Happy holidays.

  17. Deb says:

Glamour safari is not for me
But African safari – fills me with glee
It’s certainly where I’ll take my new case
(No need for a safety belt ‘round its base!)
I’ll Kodak at the game lodge Tinga -
    And see a klipspringer
    Spy leopards with spots
    And hyenas with dots
    Ogle at cheetahs
    Swat moskeeters
    Watch kudus, impalas
    (’stead of roos and koalas)
    Stalk nocturnals
    (And calm my internals)
“Shoot” hippos and phants, rhinos and ‘raffes
Learn which is what, and make no gaffes!

Good work everyone! Keep those entries coming and remember it doesn’t HAVE to be poetry or even take the whole 300 words. Just feel it and write it! :)

  18. Natalie says:

My dream adventure is to explore New York – to brunch at the restaurant that Carrie, Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte regularly met at, lunch at the diner the Seinfeld gang hang out at and drink at MacLaren’s (or McGee’s!) and pretend I’m an extra on How I Met Your Mother. I also wouldn’t be able to resist sitting on the steps of the Met with a yoghurt, a la Gossip Girl.

Of course, I’d re-enact the shows in each location for You Tube using the Kodak zi8 so the world can see my desperately awful acting :P

Finally, I’d need some amazing Hideo Wakamatsu luggage to bring back some awesome vintage plus size scores from some of the incredible NY thrift shops!

  19. Phillip Cunningham says:

It was time for our safari in Africa. I had carefully packed my Hideo Wakamatsu Safari Small Trolley Tiger suitcase with necessities from home with things that you need on safari like my trusty pocket knife, a compass and of course my KODAK Digital Video Camera Zi8.

Off we went riding on the backs of elephants and for a moment I thought my elephant would shy away in fright for after all I did have my Hideo Wakamatsu Safari Small Trolley Tiger suitcase and elephants don’t really like tigers.

I saw a rare African antelope and I pulled out my trusty KODAK Digital Video Camera and shot it dead, dead on with the camera that is for I wasn’t carrying any gun, I didn’t need a gun as I was perched on top of this elephant you see. The antelope just stood there just feeding itself, it was a wonderful sight which thanks to my trusty KODAK Digital Video Camera I was capturing all of the antelope in its glory. We bid adieu to the antelope and continued on our way.

The next animals we saw were a herd of giraffes. They are such ungainly animals but strangely are very graceful. Once again I pulled out my trusty KODAK Digital Video Camera and started shooting the wildlife just like before. That’s the way to travel. The giraffes were munching leaves from way up off the ground and out of my Safari Small Trolley Tiger suitcase I pulled out my mobile phone and rang some of my friends.

It was time to go and the elephants and I headed back. I got back to the room and re-packed my Safari Small Trolley Tiger suitcase and headed home, taking home many good memories of my safari with Hideo Wakamatsu and Kodak.

  20. Michelle says:

My Hideo Wakamatsu Safari Small Trolley Tiger suitcase is packed and ready to go, to a paradise place where the pace is slow. My KODAK Digital Video Camera is charged, and ready to play,
filming our travels, home and away.
My husband and I are redy to rest, to put the white beaches to the test. Somewhere in the Whitsunday’s is where we will be, sailing under blue skies, on crystal blue seas.

  21. Jen says:

    Bhutan calls to me.

The Land of the Thunder Dragon, where the nation’s traditions remain intact and the environment preserved.

The breathtakingly exquisite dress, and Bhutan’s guiding philosophy of ‘gross national happiness’ hold endless appeal for me – and what a backdrop.

The pretty Sakura from Hideo Wakamtasu would be a great conversation starter, and the petite Kodak Zi8 would allow for more spontaneous, intimate photographs.

Beautiful Bhutan is the perfect adventure.

  22. Kat says:

If I could go anywhere for an adventure it would be me and my boyfriend taking a long trip to canada. Corey is not that into overseas travel but Canada is the one place he has always wanted to visit. I have never seen snow in my whole life so I would love to go to Canada in winter and learn to ski, have snow fights and build snowman. I would love to be able to see Niagra Falls, visit the town where they filmed Twilight, see some of the amazing Canadian wildlife and being able to experience all that with my boyfriend would make it even more special. I have also made some great blogging friends from canada so would love to have a blogger meet up over there.

  23. Angie says:

On Feb 17 I leave for England to be with my Aunty Pam whose husband died suddenly on Christmas Day. She has lost the love of her life after 34 wonderful years of marriage and is having major surgery and needs someone to care for her. Not really a ‘perfect adventure’ one would choose – but an adventure for me as it will be the first time overseas alone since becoming a mama.

We will do all our favourite things in the week before Pam goes into hospital – strolling around markets, walking the moors, Devonshire teas, browsing antique shops, visiting galleries. How perfect to be able to capture our girly escapades on a Kodak zi8 and email footage back to the family! That would certainly impress my 8 year old son and help in the ‘missing mummy’ moments.

I would happily (and sadly!) give the gorgeous Hideo Wakamatsu bag to Pam. A classy lady must have a beautiful case when going into hospital! And what a perfect gift to inspire her to a quick recovery and a return to travelling.

  24. Jen says:

(I apologise for the repeat entry but I had to fix that typo, Wakamatsu deserved better!)

  26. joanne says:

My perfect adventure with Hideo Wakamatsu and Kodak would see me ditch the everyday, mediocrity not an option. All good adventures need a companion a wing man. My screening process see’s me pick my partner, he knows my faults and still loves me. So we set off on a roadtrip around Australia, and don’t I feel like the queen arriving in style with the hottest Hideo Wakamatsu luggage as we book into hotels, motels, 5 star resorts, car rental agencies and airports around the country. Kodak moments snapped from Far North Qeensland to stunning Cradle Mountain of Tasmania it’s the ultimate adventure, no set plan we shall let the road take us where we need to go!

  27. Michaeli Kovacic says:

The doors of his Caribbean villa whispered shut and he stood before Audrey in a midnight black suit. Cary Clooney, the world’s biggest star, and the delicious subject of her interview series for En Vogue. She took a moment to simply breathe him in.

“You’ve come to stay, I take it?” he asked in Italian flavoured dulcet tones, pointing at her Hideo Wakamatsu case.
Audrey smiled like a cheshire cat, “I never leave home without it. My ‘Sakura’.”
“Well, you’re quite the cherry blossom yourself, Miss Audrey. Shall we indulge in an aperitif, perhaps?”
    “Delightful. A mojito.”

Settled on the aged driftwood deck overlooking the pool that overlooked the beach, she had to stop their outrageous flirting for a moment to take from her pocket her Kodak Zi8. Audrey took a few candid widescreen HD shots, then set it to film the moment.

“We have a whole ten hours to fill now, Mr. Clooney. It’s quite the camera.”
    “And your nails match it.”
    “It’s Red Dream, Chanel.”
“I like a lady who can coordinate…in more ways than one. Shall we take a dip?”

Frangipani wafted over the pool waterfall and she hesitated for not one second. She clicked open her Sakura and ducked behind a screen to slip her red polka dot bikini on.

After swimming, she could still feel the heat of his hands on her shoulders. Cary begged her to stay, if only to empty his fridge of lobster and caviar.
“But,” he lamented, “I’d love to see you in red silk, a dress, perhaps.”
“We must be attuned, I have one right here.” She opened her Sakura and from the dainty hangers, withdrew a sparkly slip of red silk.

    * * *

It was a night she would always remember, and watch over again, smiling like a cheshire cat.

  28. Susan L says:

  29. Fiona says:

    Firstly OH MY GOD

    _____________________

My ideal adventure would be packing my new luggage to hit the Onsen of Japan. Hot springs, sake, then back down south to catch the last cherry blossoms of the season on my new camera, and some SERIOUS shopping in Harajuku!

  30. Angelle says:

For my entry, I decided to go with a Children’s Story based on myself…

Once upon a time, there was a little girl in Canada.
She dreamed of travelling to exotic locations and living a life less ordinary.
She travelled from one end of Canada to the other stopping in many locations, none which lived up to her dreams.
As she grew older, she left her small town life behind and moved to the city.
From the city, she made week long visits to Cuba, Dominican Republic, and Mexico with friends; they were fun, but fleeting.
“Oh, but to go ‘down under’,” she thought wistfully.
After working hard in school, she became a nurse and worked tirelessly toward her goal of travelling to Fiji, New Zealand, and Australia.
Finally, she had enough money saved! She packed her backpack and camera and set off.
She bussed around Fiji, went tramping in New Zealand, and learned to scuba dive in Australia. The backpack and camera served her well.
While in New Zealand, the girl met a boy. She decided to stay. They got married.
The old backpack and camera continued to serve her well in Malaysia and even on her honeymoon to Bali.
The boy and the girl had a baby…And the girl started to miss her family.
Now the girl can think of no more desirable travel destination than Canada.
Her backpack is worn out and the camera now defunct.
She dreams of packing her things in a chic new leopard case by Hideo Wakamatsu and boarding a plane with her husband and babe, bound for the land of her childhood.
New Kodak moments would beg to be captured as Nana and Poppy meet their granddaughter and the girl rendezvous with old friends.
Now, thanks to her favourite blog, Super Kawaii Mama, the girl found the perfect contest to help her travel happily ever after…

  31. Angelle says:

I know the entries are limited to writing which is why I submitted my story on it’s own, but I also made this video which is a collage of 9 polyvore sets which illustrate the story with me as the narrator before I realized that rule… I don’t expect this to be taken as my entry, the story alone is the entry, but I thought it was cute and I wanted to share :)

  32. Kathryn says:

I’m dreaming of a train adventure. I’m not sure where to or where from. The destination isn’t important; it’s the voyage. Somewhere between the Orient Express and the Darjeeling Limited. The luxuries of an older, slower world.

I sip aromatic teas in the afternoon and G&Ts in the evening. A breeze wafts through the open window, abating the heat and bringing with it the sweet scent of spices – cardamom and cinnamon and a hundred others I can’t identify. Bells lightly jingle somewhere in the distance.

My hair is tied back with a scarf I bought at a dusty outdoor market. The fringed ends tickle across my shoulders. In fact, my entire suitcase has transformed itself into a library: gold brocades and ruby-red silks, worn brass buttons, emerald green velvet so rich you could sink into it and white cotton for contract. Each one a story; some a brief sketch, others an epic tale.

Strong luggage is essential. On an adventure like this, who knows when you might be turfed from the train for an imagined misdemeanour?

I use my camera ostensibly to capture the scenery outside but, in reality, to capture my fellow travellers. Each one of them has a past, is running to or from something.

Women with painted smiles, men with guarded eyes: mismatched couples who raise unanswerable questions.

Worn faces and gold teeth. Children with charming grins and light fingers.
Strangers with golden skin and inviting stares; forbidden desire; frenzied passion; languid, lazy days.

Adventures surround me like ripe oranges hanging from a tree, I just need to reach out my hand and pick them.

  33. Chrissy says:

My Name Is Wakamatsu and I am not just a suitcase… I have a personality, pride, curves and am very pretty, I think I have the most spendid life as I get to travel everywhere! I have many owners and some take care of me very well and others just throw me around like trash, especially those rugged boys who help me on and off my planes, but Oh, they so good to look at though and I do believe that I get treated just a tad better than the other not so glamourous body of works that travel with me but then again boys also admire things of beauty and I think that helps. My Best friend who usually travels with me at all times is “Kodi” the trusted memory keeper by Kodak, together we go on such adventures. We are looking for a new owner though, we have got our eye on this classy lady that hangs around the airports most weekends travelling from one place to another, we bump in to her occassionally as she is usually holding up traffic signing an autograph or posing for a picture, I heard she is from the Lindy Charm School for Girls!!, Yes I think myself and Kodi would suit her appearance well. Ok Kodi, our new Years Resolution, we are off to find ourselve a new Mistress. Camera ready?, Action ….

  34. Magnus says:

    I want it
    I need it
    can i have it?

  35. Rebecca says:

When cherry blossoms mark my trail
I’ll board that ship from days of yore
Whilst burly men prepare to sail

Aboard the ship my Sakura holds safe my treasures
I don my bathers and shoot scenes of the shore

We flit from atoll to enclave upon sapphire seas
    cradled in Poseidons palm

    coruscating stars above
    the darkest nights
    the deepest calm

  36. MY PERFECT ADVENTURE
    By Vintage Suburbia

The deserted plains of Siberia rushed by as I lay against the window of my First class compartment on the Trans-Siberian express. I had caught the train from Moscow – a beautiful and intriguing city, the city of Chekhov, tall spires and wide boulevards.

I had always dreamed of traveling on the Trans-Siberian express, seeing the vast expanses of Mongolia and Siberia and then arriving in Japan. I was hoping to be in time for Hanami, the viewing cherry blossom trees – and see the famed somei-yoshino, the most beautiful of the Sakura. I planned to take a video of the blossoms with my new Kodak Zi-8 pocket video camera – a present from tres handsome French mon-ami I had met in Paris.

After three long days (and I confess, perhaps three or more too many vodka and borscht mixers later), the Trans-Siberian trundled slowly down the tracks into Tokyo train station. Despite it being Spring, there was still a chill in the air and the air was fresh and crisp as I stepped out into the soft Tokyo sunshine.

I walked down the street breathing the air for the tell-tale sweetness of the cherry blossom scent. I was pulling along my beloved cherry blossom Hideo Wakamtasu suitcase which I had taken across the world with me. As I neared the trees, a group of young women turned to look at me. “Look”, they shouted, “a beautiful Sakura”, pointing to my beloved cherry blossom suitcase! I have many fond memories of that day, but the best of all was the video I took of my new Japanese girlfriends and I picnicking under the somei-yoshino, seated around my cherry blossom suitcase, drinking sake, eating Kushi Dango, talking and laughing. A perfect adventure.

I have just finished reading We’re Going on a Bear Hunt (for the millionth time!) to my two little boys.

Being the school holidays I asked Master Five what he would like to do next week. His answer, “Can we go on like a bear hunt to the park or something. We can take our bikes and our lunch and go all day.”

So, our adventure next week is to go on our own ‘hunt’.

Seeing that this is likely to last a little longer that 5 minutes we are going to need to pack our Hideo Wakamatsu luggage (Camo, of course to blend in to our surroundings! We don’t want to be caught) to haul our supplies and of course our Kodak zi8 for proof of our hunt.

Wonder if they would be in for a ‘dress and shoe hunt’ for mum?

With my new Hideo Wakamatsu, I could carry my 7 month old and also hold hands with my 5 year old as we step off our private jet onto the tar mak in the Carribeans, all recorded in slow motion on our new Kodak Zi-8 . Unfortunately we have neither Hideo Wakamatsu, Kodak Zi-8, nor the private jet. Only hope, family, and each other’s love. So our perfect adventure would be to take Hideo Wakamatsu into our backyard where we pull out our picnic rug and set out from, together with little Ted and Big Ted. Under the 5pm Sunday sun, we sit, we laugh, we eat, we love, we enjoy and we record on Kodak Zi-8 and more importantly into our memories. No travels, no Carribbean sun, and no adventures in another country, but with family, loved ones, Hideo Wakamatsu and Kodak Zi-8… THAT would always be my perfect adventure… everyday, every second, every moment.
