Working from home is fraught with danger. Overeating, daytime T.V, believing that Snuggies are fashion… How do I deal with this workplace minefield? By watching children’s television in the daytime. Given, it isn’t that often, but when it gets too quiet here and I need a little something in the background, I tune into Sesame Street and this is why.
Sesame Street does Mad Men!

I love when Sesame Street does this. One of my favorite was when they were doing a parody of “30 Rock”. I love that show and laughed so hard when they had an actual lemon as Liz Lemon
Staying at home is the greatest.
Love it! And I love how they used the word sycophants at the end – big words for Sesame Street!!
Oh how fantastic Candice !! I love these little childrens TV tidbits – did you catch Res Darby (Flight of the Conchords) on Yo Gabba Gabba? Pure gold ! Thanks for posting this little nugget too !! Oh yeah – and I finally figured out how to follow your blog via my google reader (I dont twitter) – my computer skills are a bit dislexic !! Glad to be onboard with super Kawaii Mama now anyhow !! Will you be attending Miss Chrissy’s next Melbourne workshop by the way? Maybe I will see you there?! Vintage love from ALice Jean’s xx
That is great! I have watched Sesame Street since I was a little kid, and this is one of the reasons why. It is great for kids AND adults!
Cheers!

Oh my god, you are so right about the overeating part!

You can never go wrong with Mad Men parodies!!
I have not seen sesame street in ages, you might laugh at this, but for background noise, sometimes when I don’t have music going I put in Home Alone 2 haha
i just adore this. SS rocks, you gotta love Jim Henson
OH yeah! Any Jim Henson goes well in our house. I actually saw the episode of 30 Rock where they show how Kenneth views everyone – as Muppets and the Liz Lemon was just like Tina Fey.
My only rule for daytime TV and kids is No Advertising. You can only hear so many ads for “Baby Annabelle” and “Ocean Finance” before you want to scream. But ad’s for “The Letter B” and “How Many Elephants can you fit in a room, before they fall through the floor?”
Well I can listen to that ALLLL day.
xx
Now I’m thinking about what a Muppet Super Mama would look like…. I can see them doing that streak in your hair perfectly!
Hammie: How great would that be?! I’m imagining that puppet too. She’s be the mouthy one in the sparkly dress.
I love Sesame Street! My guilty pleasure is “Max + Ruby” – a cartoon about two little sibling rabbits. My hubs laughs at me, but it makes me happy!
