Saturday’s outfit was part work part play this week. It has to work for a morning in the shop and an afternoon of playing in the garden with my girls and afternoon drinks as the sunset. I love dresses, as many of you do too, for this very reason- there is little to fuss about. Not mixing and matching, no frantically pairing things and trying to find just the right shade top to match your pants. Just pull it on, choose how you want (or if you want) to accessorise and you’re good to go!
I love this dress for both it’s simplicity and versatility. Last time you saw it here on the blog I gave it a much more 1950′s vibe by using different hair, makeup and shoes. All the best outfits fit this chameleon category for me, but what makes this one even better was the dress was an $8 old 1980′s op shop find! Nice.
Outfit Details

Snood – Gift Earrings – Had these since I was 16 and I think I pinched them from Mum

This isn’t as tricky as it looks, just a case of practice makes perfect.
Two side sweeps and the rest back in a snood, 5 minutes at the most and you’re good to go.

Wow. You look interesting. You have your own style ^^ And I like your make-up!
You look simply amazing! And I just love your makeup.
I love picking up 80s dresses that I can dress up into 40s or 50s. They’re generally cheaper and I can wear them to death without feeling guilty. =D

Lovely lovely lovely. It’s so clean and crisp around the neckline, and I love those shoes.

That brilliant hair has inspired me to be less slack with mine…
You wouldn’t happen to know where one could acquire a hair ‘rat’? I don’t believe I’ve ever seen one in the usual hair supply type stores…

I was just thinking this weekend that dresses have become my go-to’s for their sheer simplicity! This frock is truly fab, and what a bargain to boot.
Very lovely! And I must say, seeing a glimpse of your slip in the first picture is both very pretty, and very naughty looking!
