Birthday’s always call for something extra fancy. I’ve been known to break out the tiara on any occasion, so I needed something new to add to my arsenal of fancy head wear. I came across these little extra teeny top hats while I was in Bangkok riding the sky rail. There was a girl sitting opposite me with five (count them 5 !) of these in her hair, and I knew I just had to have one. It turned out that these where the new ‘must have’ item and were everywhere in every shape, size and colour you can imagine. So I stocked up on teeny hats as you just never know when they might come in handy – like yesterday, when it become my version of the party hat!
Of course I took it one step further (you already know I’m 9 parts style, 1 part crazy! ) and added false lashes with diamantes. I do love my lashes, and these were just a bit of extra fun. With all that going on up top, I pared back the rest of the outfit and went with jeans and straightened (ish) hair. The whole outfit wouldn’t have worked though, had it not been for my latest find via Etsy, this hot pink, custom made heart shrug with ruffled sleeves. Made by the talented Nicole Linder, she customised the shrug to fit my requirements and did a cracking job! Check out her store as she has lots of fancy things in stock for extremely reasonable prices.
Anyway, the Mr. and I then spend the evening in Gold Class watching The Ugly Truth – which if you haven’t seen YOU MUST! It the funniest movie I can every remember seeing. It left me wishing I’d worn waterproof mascara, as I nearly laughed myself sick! And it isn’t just a chick flick. Mr. SKM gave this one 10/10, as the most hysterical flick he’s seen in ages. Kicking back in Gold Class with pizza, beer and a movie about sex, is close to heaven for a man on his birthday. All in all, a winner of an evening – and the hat even stayed put through all the giggles!

I would never have thought that was a shrug!! Sexy and not at all revealing. Love the diamante lashes. I think I will be avoiding the Ugly Truth though.
Great party look, the blouse is just the best.
Forget the hat, I can’t take my eyes off your top/s.
The whole outfit is so totally awesome. And I WANT one of those hats!!! How cool are they??
How cute! I’d love to make one one of these days.

Meream: You could! I’d love to see it.
Esz: Yep – coolness impersonated (Ha ha – yes I meant that)
Wendy B: I’ll give it a more detailed post of its own because it is very worthy.
Eyeliah: I’ve gotten so many compliments on it, it is magic.
Floraposte: I thought the same about the Ugly Truth after seeing the shorts and reading the review, but really, it was like a guilty pleasure and a HUGE surprise. Very funny, some classic films moments that should go down in history. Certainly not high brow or surprising, but still worth it.
Joide: I’m so pleased to have found you too! Let’s do cute things together.^-^

This is one of my favorite outfits to date! I’ve just added that shrug to my favorites list on Etsy–as soon as I can think of an event that warrents one, I’m definitely buying it!
Love the little hat too. Wonder if we have those in the States?
Amber: I’m sure you could find something like it in the states. Although they aren’t as small, try Topsy Turvy Designs on Etsy for some mind blowing designs!
