Do you dress for the season you’re in or for the season you want to feel? One of my tricks to surviving the winter blues is by breaking out all the outfits that make me happy. The spring florals, the summer brights and the just because I love them, sparkles. It is only the beginning of June, but already I am feeling the need to perk it up and bit, loose the seriousness of winter and dance in the rain.

What are your fool proof outfit pick me up’s?

When I saw that McQ skirt I immediately thought of you, SKM! I think dressing for the season you enjoy is kind of out of the question in a climate that’s so extreme (like Canada). I’d love to, if it were feasible, but – in winter – I’d freeze, slip and look very out of place wearing anything less than frostbite garments. Having said this, I’ve been going all “summer crazy” even thought the weather here is totally cold and overcast. I was wearing sandals in 14 degrees yesterday. And yes, I looked like an idiot. (And froze.)
I need to start dressing more adventurously. I’m awed by your choices.
Sequins can’t fail to cheer up a dull day, i’m currently coveting sequin leggings, jackets and anything OTT. The westwood bag is also brilliant.
I agree, having a fantastic outfit always cheers me up and gives me an extra boost of confidence! The boots in the second one are TO DIE FOR! If I could dye it all pink I would totally wear everything in the last outfit ^_^
Always something sparkly or bright cheers me up! I always dress weather appropriate cos when it’s cold, rainy and windy in England it’s no fun to wear something summery! But accessorising is they key isn’t it!
Fiona: Accessories are gods of the fashion world IMHO.
Violet: I knew you’d love it. Gotta have some pink headphones!
Chelsea: Yep, I’m sequin obsessed at the moment too.
K-Line: You know me well. And yes, you are right about most of it being out of the question in Canada, but how about trying a sequined beret or some fluffy ear muffs? I’m planning to rock those out soon.
Darn… now I have two more pairs of shoes to put on my list… the VW’s from the first collection and the Demonia boots from the second!!
Bad SK Mama!
<3 you really
xx
I love those Vivienne Westwood bubblegum smelling shoes – I never thought I would, but somehow I do!
Great choices, and I am exactly the same – except I never know how to dress for the right season, not ever!
I am coveting the second outfit with a passion, it is so cute and fun, but if it were winter up here in CDA, I’d substitute the skirt for dark skinny jeans.
As for fool proof outfit pickme up’s? My mom passed away in December, and I inherited this FAB charcoal black old-man style sweater. It never fails to make me feel comfy and cozy. *sigh* Love it!
Now that is the way to do winter in colour! I love the punk boots!
When it’s cold, I get excited to wear sexy boots. They always cheer me up.
Wearing things I should save for best cheers me up. So what if I am only doing the school run. My armani jeans and max mara purple crop jacket arent doing anyone any good in the cupboard.
xx
Hammie: Here Here! Same goes for the Agent Provocateur lingerie while doing the groceries.
Meream: That is just what is only my shopping list at the moment. I need something that is the perfect mix of practical, sexy, cute and fun. Not to much to ask from boots?
Floraposte: If I can find these in Aus you know I’ll buy them.
Fyre: Clothes have the most amazing power to evoke good memories and comfort us. That is a lovely way to remember of your time together.
Lauren: Yep, they rock! I don’t have that pair but if I find them, they seem like a must have.
Miz: How do you think my wallet feels while I research all of this? Going to have to take up bank robbery…
I’ll give you an alibi if you split the booty! From all the way over here in Scotland!
You’d be the most glamourous bank robber ever
It’s so fascinating to read about you and a winterwardrobe, since it’s summer up here (northern sweden). Well, at least it’s supposed to be early summer but a sad +13C and rain doesn’t make me want to go down to the beach…
