After posting one of my shopping / casual outfits last week, many of you asked me if I really wear heels when running around after children and running errands. (The answer is yes, most of the time) And while I do believe that a great heel makes a great outfit, I also don’t have a death wish, so there are certain activities that require a tad more dressing down. So today I’m sharing with you a prime example of my very casual, getting things done look. Last Thursday was a very cold and misty day (as evidenced by the rain spots on these photos). It was also Miss Four’s school excursion to traffic school. This meant that I was to help supervise twenty eight hyperactive children, making sure that they rode their little push bikes without major incident all in freezing weather conditions. Being that the morning was 4 degrees celcius I also threw on my emerald green trench coat over this outfit, and despite my stylish preparations, spent the majority of the day enveloped in it!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, those pants are AH-MAH-ZING! You look gorgeous, I wish I could manage that kind of glamour just for running errands…
I love, love, love those pants!
)
The thing with heels, is that if you wear them a lot, I think you actually become BETTER at a lot of activities when you have them on, and aren’t so good when you are in flats. I used to wear 3-inch heels every day and I swear I was able to run much faster to catch the train than I am able to now in ballet flats. I will defer however to your own experience with regard to supervising excursions
Emily Kate: I know exactly what you mean. Trust me though, there are some things that just can’t happen in heels. Try holding a shopping trolley full to the brim on a steep downhill escalator. You just slide down yelling at the people in front of you that you can’t stop so dive for cover!
That looks fantastic! I hope your week has started off well.
Great outfit once again SKM I need a pair of those pants!
I’ll have to stop cooking so much adn do some more exercise first though
Gorgeous. My podiatrist has banned me from heels (apart from very special occasions) so it’s good to see some looks that work with flats. By the way, if I never have to vist the Kew Traffic School again I will be a very happy mummy!
Fantastic, and I still LOVE those pants.
In the closeup shot of you and the coffee cup, have you only lined your left eye?
Or am I just looking at it from a bad angle!!
I remember those fabulous pants, you are looking swank as ever.. you are my inspiration Kawaiimama – )
I really love that outfit. One of my faves so far, (although it’s pretty hard to choose!). I just adore those pants.
*sigh* I am so in love with those pants! Fabulous!
Amazing!!! Those pants are so adorable AND so functional!
Count me in as a fan of these pants!
Thanks so much everyone! I have worn those pants so much that they are now starting to fade. Well, that and I forgot and left them on the line for a week! So I am about to make some new ones in different colours.
Rochelle: My podiatrist recommended the same thing, but she knew that she didn’t have a hope of convincing me.;) I figure I’ll have to pay for it later so I am saving up for an awesome vintage cane!
Rebecca: Either that, or some “Bridget Jones” knickers.
i LUV that lipstick color!
Those pants are fabulous. Ive been wanting to wear high-waisted vintage pants but my legs are too short
What extremely cute duds!!
Thanks for the lovely compliments on your blog after the vintage fair!! It was lovely to meet you and I hope we cross paths again!!
Sarah x
Some great pants Mama!
p.s. added you to my blogroll today.
Eyeliah: Thank you. i really must update mine too. So much to do!
Sarah Hyland: I am quite sure we will. I’ll be back for the next fair in October too.
Meream: How short is short? I am only 5’4″, but these make me look much taller.
Danielle: It is a new glittery red gloss by Maybelline. I don’t usually do gloss, but to keep the look casual it needed a change.
You look amazing, as usual =)Love those pants!!
Can we get to see a photo of the emerald green trench too?
Stunning trousers – they make you look oh-so-tiny! I love highwaisted jeans but my long legs/ long torso mean they result in a rather camel-y effect, if you get my drift! Shame – I shall simply have to live vicariously through your choice of jeans!
Love this ensemble. And, love your hairdo!
So sublimely pretty, you absolutely rock those wonderful high waisted pants!
Wishing you a marvelous weekend,
? Jessica
Jessica: Thank you! The weekend got away from me and I haven’t even done my traditional Friday post! Getting lots done though.
