Have I told you lately how much I love you? This week has been a week of reader love and I have had so many lovely emails from those of you I’ve not met on comments before. I love knowing that I am read by Burlesque Dancers, Accountants, Academics and Lumber Jack Show presenters! I even occassionally find myself in a store looking at a dress thinking, “Oh such and such would love this!” Anyway, all this has put me in a very upbeat and optimistic mood which I plan to use for good (as opposed to evil) this weekend. Here are my good intentions.
Watch My Fair Lady with Audrey Hepburn and spend the day singing the show tunes.
Get productive and tackle mending a pile of vintage garments I have put aside that need some TLC.
Sort out my collection of Kawaii stationery and put it in places that it will get used everyday. I have a collection of stationery and stickers dating back to when I was seven!
Go on a fragrance hunt. I’m looking for a new signature scent and although I know what elements I’d like to find in it, I haven’t yet found one in Australia. I’m looking for something with a strong tobacco and bergermot scent if you have any recommendations.
Create a new display in my china cupboard. I have a great old Victorian antique china cupboard in my front hall. At the moment it holds a collection of world costumes dolls from my childhood. I’m thinking of getting creative and putting some of my favorite shoes, handbags and toys in the instead. Just like my very own shop window.
Plan some fun outfits for the coming week. Some mornings when it is cold and frosty, I find it hard to get inspiration and all I want to do is wrap up in cashmere pajamas.

1. Smart Suit, 2. Sakura vs. Sasuke, 3. Re ment colazione, 4. Untitled

Ahh great minds think alike. This weekend I’m also going on a scent search too except I’ve got a really good idea of what brands and notes I like. Also I’m fixing up some of my old designs. I tore the seam of a dress I made…
Bon weekend SKM!

My Fair Lady is EXACTLY what I feel like watching!
That suit in the first picture is stunning, very Super Kawaii Mama indeed!
For a fragrance – have you tried Habanita? Mostly tobacco. I would be happy to send you a decant, if you like.
I will look and see what I have that has those notes. Ava Luxe Film Noir but I don’t think I have any to share. I will check, though.
Oh, sounds like you have a lovley weekend ahead of you!
(Someties I have nice to-do lists too, but I still never get all things done. Hope you’re more effective than me
Ulrika: Well this is my fun TO Do list, to keep me upbeat and distracted from the two pages of actual work I have to complete as well!
Mitzy G: Thanks for the rec’s. I am looking them up and will track them down. In searching about Habanita though it tells me that it was used to scent cigarettes, but doesn’t actually contain the tobacco scent, so we’ll see.
Tara: Isn’t it though. I have my eye on something similar at the moment for work.
ASAB: Let me know what you find. I’d pick you as a fresh and light fragrance kind of girl.
Have a wonderful weekend, I’ll think of you in your cashmere pyjamas while I’m at a pool party xxx
I DL’ed a bunch of Audrey Hepburn movies a while ago but haven’t had the chance to watch them. I think I’ll tackle them once I catch up on Grey’s Anatomy and Lost. =P
Hi! You might like Midnight Poison by Dior as a fragrance, I’m quite fond of it myself
Have you tried any or the great scents of the 30′s and 40′s from Guerlain or Caron (mmmmm Narcisse Noir!)? Or for something more modern there are some great scents by Frederic Malle, if you look on the website they can send you samples though I think I happened upon a shop stocking that brand in Melbourne when I was there in (eek!) 2005.
My Fair Lady! O, how I envied Miss Eliza Doolittle, and her amazing transformation. Sounds like a fun-filled weekend, indeed miz mama! Enjoy!
Ooh I like watching her in Roman Holiday – I wish it were a color film, since her outfits are always so amazing in color
Veronica: Yes the outfits are good in colour, but it is her poise that makes these films special and needs no adornment.
Miss Fluff: Now I’m watching it, I’m remembering just how stagey and slow it is in places. I might just keep skipping to my favorite bits.
Floraposte: There are so many lovely scents out there, and I am partial to a smoky oriental. My problem though is that I am looking for that exact combination of notes and still am yet to find it.
Molybdena: I must check that out, it sounds like me.
Katy: Isn’t it funny how we now catch up on our TV shows the way we onced used to catch up on our reading?
Jaede: Oh poor you!
hi there,
i’m liking your blog. will visit often.
ttuttle
Ttuttle: Welcome and thank you!
Grant: I often wish I had that computer program that Cher had in clueless for the mornings. I didn’t end up getting around to my display on the weekend, but it is definitely high on the list of fun things to do.
I have taken to planning ensembles for the up coming week so I don’t have to think about what I am going to wear that week at all. I’m usually in such a flap in the morning from over sleeping that if I don’t have to think about it I can usually handle it
I like the idea of your own little display. You should try it out
Xx
For a fragrence, try Infusion D’Iris by Prada, very nice.
This might help for fragrance selection:
