I’ve been a bit slack on the Daily Outfit posts recently. This is mostly due to a crazy schedule that hasn’t given me any free time for posing around on my verandah. That and most of the things I have been doing of late have required me to be all specialty “Hair and Make-up” for events before I leave the house. So instead of today’s Daily Outfit (which happens to be a lovely warm cardigan and boots), here is a peek behind the scenes into the morning process that has been happening the last couple of weeks.

Makeup – by Laura Mercier, Liner – Sephora, Lashes – 1000 Hour corner lashes.
I’m heading out on the town tonight to the Melbourne premiere of PREY, arm in arm with my bestest buddy who is about to fly home to Texas. It is bound to be full of good times and crazy outfit shenanigans. That is, all before midnight as I have to get some rest for the big Salon Show tomorrow!

Love that hairstyle SKM looks fantastic!
Rebecca: Thank you, I was going for something Joan – esque here and it worked quite well.
ASAB: It is always drama here on SKM!
Casey: Actually, that dress has been hanging on the door until I find a competent specialist dry cleaner! It generally goes out for cocktail parties and the like.
Marianne: I’ll do a cardigan post down the track just for you.
Emilie: The hairspray is an Australian brand called CEDEL. It has a very vintage style packaging and comes in this green, pink and black depending on the hold type.
Wendy B: I could see you rocking the blonde streak old skool !
The Style PA: Actually, this style is all without rollers. Just hairspray and bobby pins in there.
Dazzle: It all depends on the look you want. If you were going for a TWIGGY 1960’s vibe, you would definitely use mascara on the lower lashes. the reason it can make you look older is just because of the shadow it casts, but it can also create a very ‘doll like’ effect.
Swah: The foundation is Laura Mercier’s Mineral foundation powder in Tendre Rose. I LOVE it! Great for us pale gals.
Ohhhh SKM, you do style the most amazing hair! And you pull off that dark red lipstick soo well!

You look so glamorous!!! I always love those “behind the scenes” shots from fashion shows, and your’s are so much more fun!
(Was that the dress you were going to wear, hanging on the door behind you? It’s so beautiful!)
Great pics, amazing hair! And I am curious about he cardigan and boots
You look great as always! I was wondering what brand of hairspray you use? The bottle you’re holding looks a bit like “Ultra Clutch” from “Hairspray”, just what I’ve been looking for! Thanks for a great web site, I read it faithfully!
Emilie in New York.
You’re making me want a blonde streak!
Wow, wow, wow… I am in awe of your hair. Can’t wait till my rollers turn up, I am going to do some experimenting.
Hey there! I am so far behind and so sorry but I am trying to catch up = ) I admire your look- always fabulous.
I heard that we should not put mascara on our lower lids (it makes us appear older)? Do you think that is true?
Your makeup always looks flawless!
I am always on the look out for the perfect foundation for my very pale skin.. I will have to give Laura Mercier a go
