I know that Easter was more than a whole week ago, but I’ve had so much to bring you in the last week that I’ve saved this outfit post to kick off your week with style. Easter Sunday was THE perfect weather. Warm sunshine, very slight breeze, that kind of languid day that is perfect for long lunches and naps. I knew the weather would be great, but until the morning, I hadn’t planned an outfit. You may recall that I made a dress for Miss Four in matching fabric, so it was at her request that we did Easter in a very kitschy Mother Daughter fashion. Initially the skirt was longer, but I decided to hack a few inches off the bottom of it that morning so it would work better with the crinoline. I think it works better now. And before you ask, the necklace is a special one off made just for me, that deserves its own post, so you’ll just have to wait for that one.

Outfit Details: Skirt – Made by me, Crinoline – From Circa Vintage, Ballet Flats – some unknown inexpensive brand picked up in China Town, Red Cardigan – Katies, Black Tank – Portmans, Earrings – Equip, Lipstick – YSL Pur Rouge, Necklace – Hand made ..details to come.

Wooooowww!!! LOOOVE the skirt and crinoline. That pattern is gorgeous
It would be super fabulouso if you could post a tute on how to make such a skirt – I know it cant be hard but it would be awesome to have steps on how to do it
Eszter: I’ll see what I can do. This was actually surprisingly tricky as I hated the first result and had to remake it three times! when I get a simple pattern I’ll see what I can do.
Lolita Haze: Super Kawaii hey! (In case you were wondering, Super Kawaii means super cute!)
Rosee: And it swings when you walk.
That is terribly cute!
Wow! I love the way the crinoline gives the skirt that extra “kick”
Incredibly stunning! I am head-over-high heels in love with this outfit, especially the flouncy, wonderful crinoline.
Goooorgeous! I love the skirt, and the necklace is fantastic, I can’t see the post devoted to it!
you just look beautiful – the outfit altogether is just beautiful. I imagine you and your daughter in matching outfits are looking nice, maybe a little bit kitschy, but surely nice!
As for the necklace, I can hardly wait for the details!
greetings from germany,

Goody goody goody! I love your outfit posts. Excellent start tot he week!
The necklace was the first thing I noticed actually, and wondered for a second if you’d indulged in some more ink art!
The skirt is absolutely lovely! I wish I could sew
Not feeling the necklace. Don’t know why.
Maybe it needs to be a bit shorter?
Or maybe it just detracts from your lovely face.
Luuuuurrrrve the crinoline and skirt, though. They so suit you!
Mitzy G: You’re right, it does need to be shorter. It was its first outing and I have since decided to remove few links to make it sit higher and flatter.
Fleur: Oh I bet you could do something like this. I if find the perfect pattern I’ll let you know.
Nokomi: Tempting as that idea is, it probably isn’t for me in that location. Just not versatile enough for my look.
Ano0c: kitschy is exactly what i was going for when I made them. It really makes me laugh.
Tizz: Necklace post is still yet to come.
Jessica: Crinolines really put a whole new bounce in your day.
Stunning outfit! I always admire bright pops of color and bold prints–that skirt certainly fits the bill!
Super cute indeed!
so nice pics!!
Beautiful! The length looks perfect- it’s hard to imagine what it was like before the crinoline and the two inches off! And you look lovely in that color.
What a great outfit! Can’t wait to see the necklace post.
Yay for crinolines! I really need to wear mine more
I adore your necklace. From a distance in those shots is actually looks like you’ve got a pair of awesome swallow tattoos! Very rockabiliy.
I thought you had a new tatoo for a sec! You do do good rockabilly, methinks.
alt fashion blogger: Thank you! It does look rather like that and while I love those style of tats, it just wouldn’t be flexible enough for my style.
VV: Crinolines really bring out the little girl in us I think. There is nothing like swinging around in one, parting the red sea as you go.
Love the skirt and LOVE the necklace! Love the whole outfit actually
so beautiful! the necklace looks like a tatoo from a distance
Just a line to say you look beautiful
Lief
You look pretty!
