Rebecca: Ahh the hair colour! I never find the temp ones work well. If I need a change these days I just go in for a wig. It is faster and simpler. According to the MM hair stylist, Joan’s actual hair couldn’t be achieved without the aid of clip in pieces just as they used in that era.

Thank you! I was Joan for Halloween and used your technique to create her hair. It all came out very lovely, though I couldn’t find a decent temporary hair color. After searching several stores, the only one-wash color I could find was a spray in bright, cartoonish red. If anyone has any ideas to create a natural-looking red next time, please share them here.

Lisa: No I haven’t seen those in Australia. When I need loads of volume I use a ‘rat’. It looks like to get the height I’d need, you still have to back comb a bit with these inventions.

Birdie: Hi! It is so great to see some of my lurkers coming out. I do have a lot of hair which I why I don’t have to set it first to achieve much volume. But you’ll find if you use a thickening product and maybe some hot rollers first, it will give the hair a bit more body to work with. Can’t wait to see what you come up with.
