Oh I have been looking forward to this one! A weekend that is not jammed packed with activity, a chance to try and get on top of things ( I always seem to be doing that) and start planning lovely Autumn things. While a good deal of you are watching flowers bloom and the first of spring sun, I’m enjoying the first snaps of cold as Autumn makes its arrival. Here in Australia we aren’t so big on celebrating the seasons as they are in the USA. Which means that we miss out on one of my favorite seasonal treats – the fragrant set. You know, those hand lotions and candles that are made to smell like pumpkin pie and cinnamon. We find the odd thing here, but it doesn’t have the saturation that it does in the States, where even your regular cereals come in for a seasonal special. When I was last in Texas I found what has become my favorite scent – the Williams Sonoma Pumpkin pie range – and bought the biggest bottle of lotion I could carry. I’m sure that whatever it is made of it isn’t pumpkin, so it may not be the best for my skin, but YUM, does it smell fantastic!
So I may not be a Martha Stewart, but when these new seasons appear, I feel compelled to welcome them with a little appropriate nesting. It is entirley possible I am dreaming here, as it has taken me a week to try and get my housework under control, yet somehow it still looks no different. So maybe I’ll just toast a few cinnamon sticks and pull out some snuggly blankets. That’s it – housework camouflage stealth!
And now to my optimistic list.
Dinner with my little brothers before one heads off on the great world wide adventure.
Finishing all the new tutorials I have for you! (Yay!)
Watching this movie. I’ve been told that if you never took drugs in college, this will make you think you did!
Some crazy sugar induced fun at a children’s party.
Baking Lemon Myrtle muffins, ohh yeah.
Watching a new friend perform with her Burlesque troop.
Plan all my April adventures and itinerary so I don’t find myself sleeping on a couch somewhere with all the hotels booked out.
Find a devious way to justify the killer Easter bonnet I have my eye on.
…. Now it’s your turn. What delightful treats do you have planned for yourself this weekend?

We’re having a yard sale this weekend. Not my idea of fun, but we’re hoping to get some big bucks out of it!
Erion: Best of luck. I love a good sale. Although it is a lot of work, it still somehow feels like money for free.
Salla: Now THAT sounds fun.
Esz: Ah stockings and winter fabrics. I love layering up. As for the hosting, I am privately hosted. The one thing I didn’t know before hand was how much bandwidth I would need. It turns out it is A LOT! Factor this into your costs or you could be in for a nasty surprise.
Tiki Doll: Get well wishes for the hubby, best wishes for the send off and break out the best Spice Girls move for the Karaoke. Will we get to see the gray felt hat?
K Line: Yum Yum and more yum! That sounds like the perfect weekend of well deserved gluttony.
Miss Vintage Love: Enjoys yours too!
You’re weekend sounds pretty awesome!
I’m going to wander on flea markets, make some shopping and of course enjoying the sun
Have a great weekend!
I have no plans myself, I think I will just be relaxing and reading a lot!
I love the turn of the season – it would be wonderful if it was celebrated more here. A new season always brings a new mood…I’m looking forward to wearing stockings with soft winter fabrics, warm cocoa and nights in watching DVDs and listening to the rain.
This weekend we’re thinking of going to Super Nova (I think that’s what it’s called) – the pop culture expo.
And may I ask, who are you hosting with? I am thinking of registering a domain and moving to WordPress. I’ve been recommened Bluehost which does sound like a good deal but would like some further opinions
well this weekend is full of interesting hats
Nurses Hat – my hubby is sick so i will be making lemon tea and sourcing medication
Top Hat – leading the girls of work in a final hurray as its my last day there
Tiara – Girls night karaoke at the Chi lounge
Grey Felt Bell hat – my favourite autumn hat, i think I will find sometime on sunday afternoon to dress up with my fav hat and lounge in the gardens with a hot chocolate and a good book for some r&r
Hope everyone has a great weekend
I have dinner tonight with friends (Ethiopian, cheap and cheerful), lunch with a friend tomorrow (veggie with great juice and smoothie bar), dinner tomorrow at FANCY restaurant to celebrate another friend’s bday (I mean, we got a babysitter) and that’s all. I really hope the weather cooperates. Really!
Have an amazing weekend! xoxo
Great list and your new site is fab!
I love your blog!
I just came back from Texas, and I really fell in love with the bluebonnet flowers there – hopefully they will be forgiving since I’m a half-assed gardener
Thanks for the response
I’ll definitely factor in bandwidth. Ta!!
I stumbled upon your blog today and I think I’m in love. I’ve been looking for more amazing blogs to read and here yours is.
I love Halloween Super Mama!
it is a dark and horrible time of year and yet you have pumpkins in the garden, cinnamon sticks and costumes to plan and put together – always home made!
And my favourite is the critique of all the kids coming to the door (with parents hiding behind the wall usually) I use it to clean out the freezer of all the old chocolate and icecreams. We get kids knocking and saying “is this the house with the icecreams?”
We had one little madame who stood there with her goody bag open and talked on her phone for the entire exchange!
Perhaps you could institute a March Halloween in Melbourne? to go with Winter Christmas as celebrated in the Blue Mountains.
You got the darker nights, the cold winds and the lovely turning leaves. And unlike the irish I bet you already make pumpkin soup out of your Jack O Lanterns.
xx
How can the weekend be nearly over already??? Was working all day yesterday which was not something which had been on my agenda at all but needs must! Was at 2 dance workshops today; Bollywood in the morning and burlesque in the afternoon; very enjoyable but muscles will be seizing up tomorrow!
