As promised, here is the follow up to the last hair tutorial. A 1960’s style, Amy Winehouse Beehive do, just for you. This is a little more complex than the last few, but great fun and may just provide you with the inspiration you have been looking for for Halloween. So have fun, it’s a giggle.

Now THAT is cute! And what a good idea to create your own hairpiece with the bath pouf. When I was a little girl, my brother and I found a box of my mother’s old “rats” and thought they were hilarious! (rats = hair forms to go under buns, beehives, etc for those 60s looks) Now I wish I’d kept an eye on them…we have the same haircolor.

I tried out your other tutorial, and that was definitely a success. Well, except that I need more pins, and I don’t have bangs like yours, but still worked well.

say “bobby pins” all day! I just love your accent! I wish I could imitate it, but it always comes out Southern. Anyway, stupid American comments aside, that was fascinating! Always wondered how they did it. My hair is too short, but I will keep in the style side of my brain for future reference!!

Amy G: Yes, buying rats these days is a difficult task. I have a few, but they are only very small little pieces for buns and rolls. Nothing quite so extreme as this. Sounds like you could have had lots of dressing up fun as a child.

Ivyology: My mother used to wear her hair like that every day when she was 19. She had very long back Cleopatra like hair. I must see if I can find some pics of her do.

Mrs Munster: Actually not heavy at all, but it does feel a little odd. When all the pins are secure though, it feels quite good. And I imagine it would give a bit of added warmth in winter too.
